FICMARC - Caribbean Sea International Film Festival

The Caribbean Sea International Film Festival will celebrate its 10th Edition from January, 19 to 21 - 2025 on the Margarita island, Nueva Esparta, Venezuela. It´s a festival to screen films of the world-wide cinematography, features and shorts, as well as video-clips. It is also a platform for dozens of festival sponsors to study the projects of new filmmakers to finance them.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE FESTIVAL
Extension of films: FICMARC entries are open for feature films and short films of fiction, animation, documentary and experimental, as well as video-art and video clips, national and international.
Date of Production: All cinematographic works must have been completed after January 1, 2022.
Responsible for the film: Any natural or legal person of any nationality can participate.
Number of films per representative: each artist can submit an unlimited number of films.
Registration form: The registration of films to the Festival is done through the platforms (which also accept Vimeo links). FICMARC must receive confirmation of participation through these platforms, which includes an online link. The participant must ensure that the password does not change until the end of the Festival.
Deadlines: The director or producer who holds the rights must register the film before January 06, 2025

Language: For the selection the films will be presented in the original version and copies with subtitles in Spanish or English can be sent.
Enrollment Rights: Once the film is registered, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival's programming.
SECTIONS
FICMARC considers a feature film when the film lasts more than 41 minutes
FICMARC considers a short film when the film up to a maximum of 40 minutes.

A- International Competition for Feature Films:
- Narrative Feature Films: FICMARC considers a feature film when the film lasts more than 41 minutes
- Fantastic Feature Films (terror, gore, suspense, etc.)
- Experimental Feature Films

B- International competition for short films:
-Drama short films

SELECTION OF WORKS
Curatorship: The Pre-Selection Committee will be made up of FICMARC members, who will carry out their work according to the parameters of quality and creativity previously set by the Festival Management, to choose the OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE FESTIVAL.
Official Selection: The responsible for the selected film will be notified via email.
Jury: A qualified jury will evaluate the films of the OFFICIAL SELECTION to choose the winners for each category.
SCREENING
The selected films will be screened on film during the festival, a program to be published in advance in social networks and in various media.
EXHIBIT RIGHTS
During the celebration of the festival, the organization reserves the right to exhibit the selected films in as many public sessions as it deems convenient, at no cost to the festival.
AWARDS
- Best International Feature Film in each of the sections
- Best International Short Film Award in each of the sections
It can be considered deserted if there is no quorum required for films for the section (at least three in competition).
All decisions made by the Festival and by the jury are final.
FINAL CLAUSES
Registration to the festival is an affidavit that producers or directors have the rights to exhibit their works, and FICMARC is exempted from any legal, civil or criminal liability.
The persons linked to the selected films undertake not to broadcast their participation until the Festival's programming is announced by the Festival's organization by the media.
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any conflict (of organization or operation) not provided for in these regulations will be resolved by the organization of the Festival.
The presentation of the films implies the total acceptance of these bases. The interpretation and application of the same corresponds to the organization of FICMARC.
These participation bases may be supplemented or modified, prior to the start date of the Festival, by the FICMARC Organization.
The interpretation of the rules and regulations shall be the sole responsibility of the Festival Management.
